Linda Purl got her social media followers talking after sharing a photo of herself and her fellow actor lover, Patrick Duffy, on a plane. They each had on a nose mask and a pair of glasses while Purl leaned into Duffy’s seat as he looked up from his spectacles. Playing over the snap was Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day,” while Purl’s caption explained that they were out early yet again.
The couple got together in 2020, about four years after Duffy lost his wife Carlyn Rosser, and a decade after Purl’s fourth marriage to James Vinson Adams ended. They have remained inseparable ever since, and their latest Instagram post has fans wondering if they had a secret wedding.
Fans react to Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl’s travel snap
Fans were curious about Purl and Duffy’s current relationship status and did not hesitate to ask after Linda made a loved-up post with the 75-year-old star. “Had no idea you two were married. Two of my many favorites,” someone wrote, followed by responses from users who debunked the speculation. “I don’t think they are married,” a reply read. Although Purl left the assumption unaddressed, she liked the comment.

Other followers were more interested in the masks on their faces, with some commending them for staying precautious, while others criticized them for it. “I will never understand why so many people get their panties in a twist over someone else wearing a mask. It does not affect you, why do you care?” a fan responded in their defense.
Love and career
Linda began her career in the early ‘70s with her first major role in 1975’s Crazy Mama, after which she starred in projects like W.C. Fields and Me and Young Pioneers’ Christmas the following year. At the time, Duffy was already on a Taco Bell commercial and appeared in the TV series Man From Atlantis as Mark Harris before his breakthrough role as Bobby Ewing in Dallas.
They first met in the UK in 2000, although no sparks flew until the 2020 pandemic lockdown when they began chatting and then having regular video calls via zoom. Duffy would read out his poetry to her from his large ranch home in Oregon, while she listened in Colorado with just her dog. They hit it off from there, and rumor has it that they may have walked down the aisle already.
