During a recent episode of The Osbournes podcast, Kelly Osbourne joked about a positive side to her past use of drugs and alcohol, saying it has helped “pickle” her body from getting cancer. An ER Dr. Greg was a guest on the show and admitted there is no proven connection between the substances Kelly indulged in and cancer.
Kelly’s parents have both had a history of cancer diagnoses, with her mother Sharon suffering from colorectal cancer in the early 2000s, and undergoing a double mastectomy later on after realizing her high potential for having breast cancer.
Kelly Osbourne started doing drugs at 13
Kelly was exposed to opioids as early as 13 after undergoing surgery for tonsillitis, which came with a post-op prescription of Vicodin. On an episode of the Red Table Talk show, Kelly recalled hearing voices in her head that messed with her self-esteem and body image, causing her to use drugs as a temporary escape from herself.

Shortly after experimenting with Vicodin, Kelly tried Percocet and then heroin coupled with high alcohol consumption. Although Kelly is now clean for the most part, she did admit to struggling with staying sober, particularly after her relapse in 2021. The mother of one assured she is “back on track” and will always be honest about her journey.
Kelly has majorly struggled with weight loss for years and was often considered “too fat” and “too ugly” for TV growing up. Having internalized these mean comments since her teen years, Kelly made it a point to achieve her dream body and underwent a gastric sleeve surgery in 2020. She expressed happiness about losing up to 85 Lbs, calling it “the best thing I have ever done.”
The TV personality allegedly used Ozempic as well, having praised the drug on social media on a few occasions; however, she recently denied taking it, adding that she simply considers it a miracle solution “in the right hands.” Sharon, on the other hand, lost weight thanks to the medication but regretted her decision as she is currently underweight and unable to retain food in her system.
