April was a tough month for Jamie Foxx, who was suddenly hospitalized due to a mysterious medical complication. The 55-year-old actor recently spoke out for the first time since the tragic incident to the relief of his fans. Foxx shared in the video he posted on his Instagram page, that he is “on the road to recovery.”
Although Foxx did not disclose the details about the illness, the heart-wrenching video showed that it was a severe struggle for him. The actor thanked his fans and well-wishers for their support, and they responded to him in the comments with much love, relief, and encouragement.

Foxx shared the “hellish” experience he had in the emotional video while also debunking some rumors about him being “blind” or “paralyzed.” “I went through something I thought I would never, ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man,” Foxx said with tears in his eyes.

He added that he did not want his fans to see him in a bedridden state, hence his reason for staying behind the scenes all this while. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or a television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through,” Foxx added.
Foxx’s sister and daughter saved his life
The actor was grateful to his family, specifically his sister Deondra Dixon, and his 29-year-old daughter, Corine, for saving his life. “To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” Foxx said. In April, Corine announced that her father fell ill while producing his upcoming movie, Back in Action.
“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in, in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight — they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me — and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these. But, I’m coming back, and I am able to work,” Foxx continued.
The Oscar winner warned fans that they might see him bust to tears in gratitude when they see him publicly.
