Can you think of some classic television catchphrases that you would recognize anywhere? The dictionary’s definition of a catchphrase is “a well-known sentence or phrase, typically one that is associated with a particular famous person.” There are many TV shows and movies that feature a catchphrase.
See if you can remember where some of these classic TV catchphrases are from:
1. “Ahh, what’s up, doc?”
Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes famously says this phrase all the time. He is generally eating a carrot while saying it too.
2. “You rang?”
Lurch from The Addams Family always asked this.
3. “I’m smarter than the average bear.”
Yogi Bear from The Yogi Bear Show. Did you read this in his iconic voice?
4. “Dyn-o-mite!”
J.J. Evans from Good Times used to exclaim this on this show.
5. “Aaay!”
Do you remember Fonzie saying this on Happy Days? Do you remember the hand gesture he would make when he said it too?
6. “Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.”
Curly from The Three Stooges. Which Stooge was your favorite?
7. “Ruh-roh!”
This actually has two answers! Do you remember Astro from The Jetsons or Scooby Doo from Scooby Doo saying this when trouble came up?

This kind of Cartoon made my day in my generation!
Anyone here remember “The Simpson” he always said to himself “Dope!” LOL
About this one “1989 – Family Matters “Did I do that”? this a bit old phrase that I love to use when I teased my mom and dad!
Honestly I learnt alot from tv series and cartoon series at that time!
The 1980’s kids love them both!
“How I met you mother”? – It’s gotta be legen— wait for it —- dary”!
It left us values in life, though some of their expression are not appropriate to say as a kid at my time and till now ofcourse.
Lol!
Sweet!
My favorite was Bugs Bunny!
Mine’s “What’s up Doc?” 🙂
Wat chu talkin bout Willis?
First, you pictured the wrong robot for “Lost In Space”. Also, Ricky said “‘splainin'”, not “explaining”…that was part of the funny. I only remember Jan saying “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!” in a single episode; that hardly makes it a catch-phrase.
