Say Aloha to a cookie you’ll go nuts for. Classic, crunchy and packed with macadamia nuts, this cookie is delicious and (semi) healthy, so keep it in mind for your new 2017 diet.
12. Idaho: Party in My Mouth Cookie
This famous cookie at the Cocoa Bean was too cute to pass up! Brace yourself when taking a bite out of this over-the-top treat. It’s got just about everything from the candy aisle: Nutella, caramel, cream cheese frosting, melted Ghirardelli chocolate and … wait for it, “unicorn tears and fairy dust.”
13. Illinois: Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie
Inspired by Chicago’s Frango Mint Chocolates, this cookie is both delectable and refreshing. The mints were first created for the famed Chi-town, Marshall Field and Company, but are now sold at Macy’s. We couldn’t find an exact Frango Mint Cookie, but we’re pretty excited about this choice.
14. Indiana: Sugar Cookie
The Hoosier State is a home of the famous sugar cream pie — and we choose a classic sugar cookie in its honor. We wanted to make sure not to steal the OG’s thunder!
15. Iowa: Corn Cookie
This cookie is the perfect representation of Iowa’s sprawling farms and agriculture. No, this cookie can’t count as your vegetable for the day, but it may make you feel better about indulging!
16. Kansas: Sunflower Cookie
It seems fitting that the Sunflower State has a sunflower sugar icing cookie! It’s almost too pretty to eat … almost.
17. Kentucky: Kentucky Derby Cookie
The Bluegrass State is known for a lot more than just the Kentucky Derby, but we couldn’t pass up the chance to feature this cookie. Who can resist rich chocolate, bourbon, plump pecans and butter. Sounds like a winner to us!
18. Louisiana: Sprinkle Cookie
Of course, we had to do a fun and festive cookie for The Pelican State, home of the biggest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. The sprinkles are just like the loads of glitter and beads that take over New Orleans.
19. Maine: Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie
Known for its jagged, saltwater coastline and picturesque views, the Pine Tree State’s ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie has a salty side.
20. Maryland: Berger Cookie
Beware: You may be stuck on the couch after two of these palm-sized, hand-dipped cookies. The homemade recipe hails from Germany, but it’s now an iconic part of Baltimore’s foodie culture. Talk about chocolate wasted!
