Published June 25, 2026

Two of television’s most powerful stars are together again. Lindsay Wagner recently reunited with Lee Majors at Central Carolina Comic Con, giving longtime fans a nostalgic glimpse of the actors who brought Jaime Sommers and Steve Austin to life during the 1970s.

The reunion arrived during a meaningful year for their shared television history. The Bionic Woman celebrated the 50th anniversary of its 1976 premiere, while photos of the former costars reminded viewers how one guest appearance, a surprising character death, and an enormous fan reaction created one of the era’s most memorable action heroines.

According to People, the actress shared several photographs from the convention on Instagram, including a picture of herself posing with Majors. Fans quickly filled the comments with messages about how much the reunion meant to them. Some remembered watching The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman during their original runs, while others simply expressed their happiness at seeing the two stars together again.

Their connection began when Wagner appeared as Jaime Sommers, the childhood sweetheart of Majors’ character, Steve Austin, on The Six Million Dollar Man in 1975. Following a serious skydiving accident, Jaime received bionic implants that gave her extraordinary abilities. However, the storyline initially ended in tragedy when her body rejected the implants and the character died. Viewers reacted so strongly that producers brought Jaime back and eventually built an entire series around her.

A Family Connection Helped Convince Her to Accept the Role

The role that defined her career almost never happened. She reportedly considered turning down a guest spot on The Six Million Dollar Man until her mother reminded her it was her younger sister Randi’s favorite show. She accepted the role, leading to The Bionic Woman, which premiered in 1976. The series ran for three seasons and earned her a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

The bionic story continued after the original series ended. Wagner and Majors reunited for three TV movies between 1987 and 1994, giving fans more of Jaime and Steve’s story. Their latest reunion shows that the affection for both characters remains strong. Although they are no longer racing across television screens, seeing them together still brings back fond memories for generations of fans.
