Phil Collins recently stepped out for a rare public appearance as the music legend continues dealing with several serious health issues that have limited his mobility in recent years.
According to USA Today, the former Genesis drummer attended the 50th anniversary celebration for King Charles III’s charity, The King’s Trust, at Buckingham Palace alongside his wife, Jill Collins. Photos shared from the event showed the singer using crutches while spending time with guests, including Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster.

The celebration reportedly carried personal importance because the musician previously served as a trustee and became the organization’s first official ambassador. Jill Collins described the occasion as a “truly memorable afternoon” and shared that the couple enjoyed reconnecting with longtime friends during the royal event.
She also revealed that they had a few private moments with King Charles, who seemed genuinely happy to see the singer. The couple additionally plans to host an auction from their personal archives later this year in support of the charity. The appearance marked one of the few public outings fans have seen from the legendary performer since he opened up earlier this year about his worsening health struggles.

The singer explained that complications from a spinal injury suffered in 2007 caused nerve damage in his neck and contributed to long-term mobility challenges. Over the years, he has also undergone multiple knee surgeries and dealt with kidney complications linked to heavy drinking earlier in life. The singer revealed he now relies on a 24-hour live-in nurse while managing several health concerns at once.
Despite those difficulties, he shared a more hopeful outlook earlier this year, admitting the last few years had been “difficult” and “frustrating” but adding that things are “all right now.” Fans have continued to support the beloved artist throughout his health journey.
