Janet Jackson Reportedly ‘Hates’ New Michael Jackson Biopic – Here’s Why

Few artists have shaped modern pop culture like Michael Jackson. As excitement grows around the upcoming film about his life, the Michael Jackson biopic has already become one of the most discussed projects in music and film. Fans around the world want to see how the movie will portray the rise of the King of Pop and the defining moments that made him a global icon.

Yet the Michael Jackson biopic has not only generated anticipation. Reports suggest that the project has also stirred strong opinions within the Jackson family itself. While the film aims to celebrate Michael Jackson’s extraordinary career, the effort to tell such a complicated story has reportedly sparked disagreement among those closest to his legacy.

Reportedly Sparks Family Tension

The biopic, titled Michael, focuses on the singer’s journey from his early success with the Jackson 5 to his record-breaking solo career. The production casts Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, in the lead role, giving the film a deeply personal connection to the legendary performer.

However, not everyone in the family reportedly embraced the film’s approach. As The Daily Beast reports, Janet Jackson reacted strongly after watching a family screening of the biopic in Los Angeles. Sources claim she criticized parts of the film and even clashed with her brother Jermaine Jackson, whose son portrays Michael.

Michael Jackson Biopic Draws Attention Beyond The Family

The biopic has also fueled wider conversations about how filmmakers should portray such a complex cultural figure. Michael Jackson’s life included groundbreaking artistic achievements as well as controversies that continue to spark debate. That reality places enormous pressure on any film attempting to tell his story.

Despite those challenges, the biopic remains one of the most anticipated music films in years. With a major production budget and a planned 2026 release, the movie will likely introduce a new generation to Michael Jackson’s music while reminding longtime fans of the legacy that made him one of the most influential entertainers of all time.
