Reba McEntire Slams Fake AI Images Featuring Dolly Parton ‘Deathbed’ Images

Published October 13, 2025

Country legend Reba McEntire is calling out the growing spread of AI-generated photos that misrepresent celebrities, especially when they involve her and her longtime friend, Dolly Parton. The “Fancy” singer took to her Instagram stories to shut down viral fake images that had circulated online, including one showing her appearing pregnant and another depicting her at Parton’s supposed “deathbed.”

According to Fox News, McEntire didn’t hold back in her response. “You tell ’em, Dolly,” she wrote. “That AI mess has got us doing all kinds of wild things. You’re out there dying; I’m out here having a baby. Well, both of us know you’re too young, and I’m too old for any of that kind of nonsense.” Her post came after several AI-generated photos gained traction online, sparking confusion and concern among fans.

Reba McEntire’s message highlighted a growing frustration shared by many artists as artificial intelligence continues to blur the line between reality and fabrication. The Grammy-winning star expressed support for Parton, who had also taken to social media to reassure fans that she was healthy and far from her “deathbed.” In the video, Parton joked that if she were truly dying, “I don’t think Reba would be the one at my deathbed,” before assuring followers she simply needed rest and treatment.

The touching friendship between McEntire and Parton shone through McEntire’s response. Along with humor, she offered heartfelt encouragement, writing, “You better know I’m praying for you. I love you with all my heart, and I can’t wait to see you soon.” The exchange showed the genuine bond between two of country music’s most beloved women—and served as a reminder of the real people behind the viral headlines.

While Reba McEntire pushed back against her own AI-generated image, she also brought attention to the harm these false depictions can cause. The doctored photos of Parton circulated soon after the singer postponed her Las Vegas residency due to health reasons, which fueled unfounded rumors. McEntire’s statement underscored the importance of truth and compassion in an era where technology can distort both.

Both stars have long embodied strength and authenticity in the entertainment world. As McEntire made clear, no algorithm can replace genuine friendship or real human connection. Her message not only defended her and Parton’s integrity but also reminded fans to look beyond sensational images and focus on the truth behind the music.
