Robin Williams death

It has been 11 years since Robin Williams‘s death, but the world still feels the absence of his quick wit, big heart, and unmatched talent. Known for his ability to make people laugh while also touching their hearts, Williams left a legacy that continues to inspire fans and fellow performers. From his early days on Mork & Mindy to unforgettable roles in films like Good Will Hunting, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Aladdin, his work remains timeless.

Just weeks before the anniversary, his son Zak Williams marked what would have been Robin’s 74th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute. “Grief isn’t linear. It loops and echoes. It softens, then crescendos,” Zak wrote. He described his father as someone who “lived to make people feel seen” and encouraged others to honor loved ones by leading with compassion and lifting others during dark times.

The news of Robin Williams‘s death on August 11, 2014, shocked fans worldwide. At the time, it was revealed that he had died by suicide, but an autopsy later showed he was battling Lewy body dementia. This progressive disease can cause severe depression, anxiety, and hallucinations—symptoms that had deeply affected him in his final months.

According to Parade, Susan Williams, his wife, has shared openly about the misdiagnosis of Parkinson’s disease before his passing. She recounted that in the days leading up to his death, his mood seemed to improve, and they enjoyed a perfect weekend together. On their final night, he told her, “Goodnight, my love,” not knowing it would be the last time.

Family tributes keep his legacy alive
