Apple Martin, the 21-year-old daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, was recently spotted enjoying a summer day in the Hamptons.
In photos published by TMZ, Martin was seen taking a dip in the Atlantic Ocean wearing a red-and-white gingham print string bikini. The Vanderbilt University student, who bears a striking resemblance to her mother, appeared relaxed as she played in the waves along the popular East Coast vacation destination.
Apple Martin is slowly forging her own path and career

While her beach appearance drew public attention, Martin typically maintains a low profile. The celebrity offspring is currently an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is majoring in law, history, and society. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is a member of Vanderbilt Original Cast, the university’s well-known cabaret theater group.
In an April interview with Interview magazine, Martin spoke about her academic path and passion for the arts. “I’m a law, history, and society major, but I wish I would’ve taken—maybe I’ll take—a theater course before I leave,” she said, describing her college experience as a balance between “very different extracurriculars” and her chosen field of study.
She also hinted at a possible future in the performing arts, saying, “I would love to do theater because I adore it so much. I’ve obviously never done film before, but I’ve been trying to get involved in student films. I was born a theater kid.”
Though Martin keeps her social media accounts private, she occasionally appears on her parents’ profiles. On May 14, Paltrow marked her daughter’s milestone birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, calling her “the light of my life” and praising her “strength,” “intellect,” and “goofiness.”
