Gwyneth Paltrow loves attention, and she knows how to get it. But this time, it was from her kitchen. The 52-year-old actress and wellness entrepreneur recently posted a playful Instagram video that showed her preparing breakfast in an unexpected way: topless. She shared the video on June 14, where she was making what she called a “boyfriend breakfast.”
It quickly sparked conversation online, especially after her daughter, Apple Martin, added a sassy response. In the clip, Paltrow prepared shakshuka-style dish, making use of locally sourced sausage, cherry tomatoes, spinach, white beans, and eggs in a sunlit kitchen. But while the meal looked delicious, it was her outfit or lack thereof, that turned heads.

In the recent video, the Oscar winner went bare on top, wearing only pajama bottoms, casually describing the process while Prince’s “Starfish and Coffee” played in the background. The Goop founder’s fans were quick to react with praise for her confidence, but it was Apple Martin’s comment that stood out. The 20-year-old left a funny note in the comment section, gently teasing her mother about the missing shirt. “Did I steal your shirt by accident or…” Martin wrote, and Paltrow replied with a crying laughing emoji.
Apple Martins, also the daughter of Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin, has grown up in the public eye but tends to keep a private life, especially online. Her interactions with her mother on social media often show their sense of humor. Over the years, Paltrow has spoken about how she and her daughter often exchange fashion items, and she has admitted to both lending and borrowing pieces from Apple’s wardrobe.
Approach to aging
Despite their age gap, Paltrow and Martin influence each other when it comes to beauty and fashion, with Martin sometimes encouraging her mom to try more bold or trendy looks. Gwyneth Paltrow is also using her shirtless video to celebrate her confidence and comfort in her skin.
As someone who has long spoken about self-care and authenticity, she regularly shares moments like this from her personal life to encourage others. Many fans also praised her confident approach to aging.
