Rod Stewart is still regarded as one of the best-selling singers of all time, having enjoyed a pretty successful career spanning over six decades with several hit songs, including “Maggie May,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Forever Young.” Despite his dedication to his career, the 80-year-old has, over the years, faced occasional health setbacks that have impacted his performance.
More recently, Stewart’s fans faced a huge disappointment when the singer abruptly canceled his scheduled residency performance billed to be held at The Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas just hours before showtime on Sunday, June 1.

The rock legend took to his Instagram to make a last-minute announcement less than four hours before the start of his scheduled concert, revealing that he would be postponing the June 1 show due to an emergency health challenge. Stewart expressed his regret to fans, explaining that the performance would be rescheduled for June 10, while assuring them that the tickets they had initially purchased would remain valid for the new date.
Shortly after his post, The Colosseum, via its official Instagram account, also verified the delay, thereby supporting Stewart’s statement that their tickets remain valid. It cited an unspecified health illness as the cause of the show’s cancellation.
Fans express mixed opinions about the postponement of the show
This is not the first time Stewart has postponed a performance on the grounds of ill health in recent times. Last summer, the rock icon was forced to delay his 200th residency show after he had a severe respiratory infection.
Although many of his devoted fans, upon receiving his latest Instagram announcement, have expressed their support and well-wishes for his recovery, some others have voiced frustration over the inconvenience that comes with the postponement, especially those who came in as tourists from other places. They highlighted the challenges of adjusting travel plans, while some called for refund options since they may not be able to attend the new date.
