Scott Colomby made a rare appearance this week in Los Angeles, and it didn’t take long for people to notice the drastic change in his look. Far from the image fans remember from the ’80s, the once ripped and stylish actor now keeps it casual. He wore a dark T-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms, sneakers, and glasses tucked into his shirt.

For fans who grew up watching his films, the transformation was hard to miss. Colomby, now 62, was once linked to actress Valerie Bertinelli and starred alongside big Hollywood names like Michael Keaton, Farrah Fawcett, and Bill Murray.

Scott Colomby has mostly stepped away from fame and doesn’t have any presence on social media. Despite his past success, he has stayed under the radar. His appearances on screen have slowed down since the 1990s, and sightings like this one in L.A. are few and far between.

He still works in the entertainment world, but in a different way. He co-founded Big Elvin & The Professors’ Blues Theater, a group that mixes music, comedy, street performance, and theater. His last known screen appearance was in 2023. Even public outings have become rare for him, adding to the surprise of his latest sighting.

Scott Colomby’s Hollywood journey

Colomby began his career in the early 1970s, but it was the 1980 film Caddyshack that made him famous in the industry. He played Tony D’Annunzio, the confident teen caddie in the cult golf comedy, and acted with famous actors like Bill Murray, Chevvy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and Ted Knight.

He followed that success with a lead role in Porky’s, one of the most talked-about teen comedies of the decade. His character, Brian Schwartz, was a smooth-talking high schooler navigating wild adventures in 1950s Florida. The film became a box office hit, pulling in over $160 million from a small budget. It later became a trilogy, with Colomby appearing in all three films.
