65-year-old comedian and actor who played the role of Joey Gladstone in the hit sitcom Full House recently opened up about a health crisis he faced that almost took his life. Just last year, in October, the actor was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a condition he has been battling since then and has undergone treatment to combat the disease.

However, after undergoing rigorous chemotherapy, Coulier revealed that his health suffered a devastating setback when he contracted a virus shortly after completing the final round of his treatment. The infection landed him in the hospital, putting his life at risk once again just as he was beginning to recover from his cancer battle.

Speaking in an interview with Parade, the actor disclosed that while still battling with his cancer, he came down with severe fatigue and respiratory issues and was bedridden for 10 days, which he initially thought was caused by the common cold or the side effects of his chemotherapy.

Coulier explained that it was not until his physicians identified ground-glass opacity (GGO) in his lungs through a scan that he began to understand the severity of his condition, which his doctors claimed if it had not been detected early and promptly attended to, could have led to severe consequences.

Coulier explained that the moment he stepped out of the hospital, he was so exhausted that even the simple rituals performed by cancer survivors to symbolize the end of their chemotherapy skipped his mind, only to be reminded by his beloved wife, Melissa, who stood by his side all through his ordeal.
