Ozzy Osbourne is gearing up for what will be his final performance with Black Sabbath as he reunites the legendary group for one final show. In March, it was announced that the legendary heavy metal group would reunite on July 5 for a highly anticipated farewell concert.
Osbourne, who will share the stage with guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward, will be back in Birmingham, the city where Black Sabbath first formed in 1968. The Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park will celebrate their history and also benefit several charities, such as Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

There have been several speculations about what Osbourne will be like on stage, especially with his health problems. In a recent interview with Riff X’s Metal XS, guitarist Zakk Wylde hinted at something unexpected for the farewell concert. Osbourne, who has struggled with mobility due to Parkinson’s disease and spinal injuries, may be playing from a throne custom-built, especially for the concert.
Wylde humorously came up with a plot where Osbourne could be lifted above the audience, shooting water as part of the act. Though nothing is in the works yet, the possibility that Osbourne could make an entrance on a throne has been creating excitement among fans.
Zakk Wylde hopes Ozzy Osbourne will tour again
While this concert is supposed to be Osbourne’s final performance, Wylde hopes that if it is successful, Osbourne will reconsider retirement and return for another tour. Wylde recalled a recent moment when Osbourne sat down to sing “Mama, I’m Coming Home”, delivering a flawless performance despite his health struggles.
This has fueled his hope that the Prince of Darkness could still have more live shows ahead. Osbourne’s most recent tour, No More Tours 2, was initially planned as a farewell tour but was cut short due to his health issues.
