The past month has been an emotional one for former talk show host and media personality Wendy Williams, who recently sparked debates about her health after making claims that she was perfectly fit to take care of herself and make rational decisions without her court-appointed guardian. Williams, who had a highly successful career hosting her own syndicated television talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, has been battling with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, forcing her to be placed under a legal conservatorship which has overseen both her finances and health since May 2022.
However, Wendy Williams recently filed a plea to end her guardianship so she could return to living independently and manage her life affairs personally. Following her lawsuit, Wendy was recently spotted in a restaurant in New York City having dinner.

On Saturday, March 15, the former talk show host was seen at an upscale Italian restaurant in Manhattan’s NoHo neighborhood. Caught on camera, Williams arrived on a motorized scooter, rocking a luxurious fur-trimmed coat, which she paired with a bold red lipstick that exuded confidence and elegance.
The recent outing is not her first since passing her capacity test, as it seems to be part of a series of public appearances by Williams to showcase her independence as she fights to reclaim her freedom from her court-appointed guardian. Early last week, Williams was also spotted at the same restaurant, but this time in the company of her niece, who has also been a source of support for her in her ongoing battle for independence.
Wendy Williams’ fight to end her conservatorship
William’s dinner appearance comes just a few days after she was taken away from Coterie, the care facility in which she was living. The 60-year-old was moved from the facility to a hospital for evaluation by the New York Police Department after she dropped a note with the words “Help! Wendy!!” out of her window.
Over the past months, Williams has been actively making efforts to end her conservatorship, which is currently overseen by Sabrina Morrisey, her legal guardian, who has consistently argued that the 60-year-old is not capable of catering for herself. In a January appearance on The Breakfast Club, Williams revealed that her situation feels as though she were trapped in prison, emphasizing that she had no business living in a facility filled with old people. The media personality also spoke about the lack of transparency as regards her treatment. She noted that she was totally unaware of the kind of medications that were being administered to her. It seems Wendy is set to make the most of her new found freedom as she awaits the court decision as regards her plea.
