The 2025 SAG Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium, where top stars converged for a night of glamour and glitz. Demi Moore, Ariana Grande, Brooke Shields, and Kathy Bates were among stars who walked the red carpet in stunning attire, dominating news headlines for fashion and award-winning performances.
Fans could not help but notice that several celebrities appeared significantly thinner than they had before, and they wondered why. Some have speculated that the growing popularity of Ozempic, a diabetes medication that has become the newest weight-loss trend among Hollywood celebrities, could be responsible for the drastic changes.
Which celebrities showed off their weight loss at the SAG Awards?
Amongst the celebrities who looked concerningly skinny was Demi Moore, who wore a body-hugging black gown. Georgina Chapman and Brooke Shields wore lean lines in ruffled and metallic couture gowns. Kathy Bates appeared much thinner in a stylish trouser suit, while Ariana Grande’s starry gown reinforced the weight loss gossip.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, who has denied using Ozempic, wore a tuxedo-like ensemble that fit her slim body. Though some have claimed Ozempic as part of their weight reduction experiences, the others cannot be proven to be related to Ozempic.
Reactions to some celebrities having slimmer figures at SAG Awards
The sudden transformations did not go unnoticed by social media users, who flocked to their smartphones to share their thoughts. “Demi Moore looking really skinny. #SAGAwards,” someone wrote, while another said Ozempic might be the culprit. “Even already skinny celebrities are wasting away. Look at recent pics of Nicole Kidman and Brooke Shields. YIKES!!” they exclaimed.
Medical experts were also part of the discussion. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Dennis Schimpf noted that Gomez appeared thinner but didn’t show the usual signs of extreme weight loss. Dr. Sue Decotiis, a New York-based weight loss specialist, also said Demi Moore’s very protruding collarbones and lack of body fat were possible signs of sudden weight loss.
