Donny Osmond Brings His Teenage Self To Life With AI During Las Vegas Residency

Donny Osmond is making history on stage, but not in the way anyone might expect. The legendary singer has found a way to bring back his teenage self without time travel. He has used artificial intelligence and CGI to recreate his 14-year-old persona for his Las Vegas residency, letting fans experience a duet between past and present.

In a teaser video, Osmond introduced his newest stage partner: a younger version of himself from 1972. He announced that he has a co-star, and they are about to make history. The AI-powered concept was not just any digital hologram; it was also much more interactive.

Donny Osmond AI is his grandson, Daxon Osmond

Performing alongside your teenage self might sound like something from a sci-fi movie, but for Osmond, it’s reality. However, the twist is that the young Donny is not purely a computer-generated illusion. He’s actually played by Osmond’s grandson, Daxton Osmond, who wears motion-capture technology to bring his grandfather’s 14-year-old face to life.

This means young Donny will talk, move, and even react in real-time like a real performer, according to Daxon’s actions. While the thought of these AI innovations are fantastic, some of the ladies wondered what it might take to keep running it.

Fans react to Donny Osmond’s post

Fans flooded the comment section with a mix of excitement and curiosity. One fan was in awe, saying, “Wow! He looks exactly like Donny!” Another could not believe it, and was simply grateful for the chance to see the Donny of their 12-year-old dreams.

Sadly, not everyone was convinced, as critics found the AI performance unsettling. “I’m sorry, but this is so creepy. I get the idea, and I know fans will love it, but AI that mimics people like this is a little scary,” someone admitted. Love it or not, Donny Osmond’s AI-powered performance is starting conversations about changes in entertainment.
