Kelly Ripa got a pleasant surprise when she reunited with former All My Children co-star Lacey Chabert on a recent episode of LIVE with Kelly and Mark. Chabert, best known for her roles in Mean Girls and over 40 Hallmark movies, stopped by to promote her latest project, An Unexpected Valentine.
Before her rise to fame, Chabert played Bianca Montgomery, the daughter of Susan Lucci’s character Erica Kane, on All My Children from 1992 to 1993. At the time, Ripa was starring as Hayley Vaughan, a role she played until 2002.

When Ripa asked if All My Children was Chabert’s first acting job, the actress confirmed it was one of her earliest roles, though she had made appearances in a few TV shows before. What truly surprised Ripa, however, was Chabert’s fond memories of working with her.
Instead of recalling her time alongside soap opera legend Susan Lucci, Chabert told Ripa that she had been her biggest inspiration on set. She shared how much she had admired Ripa as a child and expressed that she still looked up to her even now. Ripa, caught off guard, was visibly touched by the unexpected compliment.
Kelly Ripa met her husband on ‘All My Children’
Ripa’s time on All My Children did not only shape her career, it also changed her life. In 1995, Mark Consuelos auditioned for the role of Mateo Santos, and their on-screen chemistry quickly turned into a real-life romance. Shortly after he landed the role, the two started dating. After a brief breakup, they eloped in 1996, beginning their decades-long marriage.
Recently, Ripa joined several former All My Children cast members for a retrospective event marking the show’s 55th anniversary. Ripa took a moment to express her gratitude, acknowledging that without the casting director, Wilson’s casting choice, she would not have met her husband or had the family she cherishes today.
