Tippi Hedren has four grandchildren now
The relationship between Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith has been a special and unique one, perhaps because they share similar passions. Tippi, who was born Nathalie Kay Hedren in 1930 in Minnesota, rose to fame as a Hitchcock muse in the ’60s. But beyond her career, she devoted much of her life to animal advocacy, founding the Shambala Preserve to care for exotic animals. Her life of independence and activism greatly influenced Melanie, who credits her mother with teaching her crucial life skills, including self-care, independence, and the importance of creating a safe space. “That’s what I wanted to emulate as a mother,” Melanie once shared in a joint interview with her daughter, Dakota Johnson.
Today, Tippi Hedren has four grandchildren — Jesse Johnson, Alexander Bauer, Dakota Johnson, and Stella Banderas. They always speak fondly of their “Mor Mor.” Tippi Hedren’s 95th birthday is not just a celebration of an extraordinary life but also of the admirable bond she shares with her daughter, Melanie Griffith.
