AC/DC last toured the US in 2016, and they are returning in 2025 for their Power Up tour, which starts in April. Vocalist Brian Johnson, who was absent during their last run due to hearing loss, will be present alongside his AC/DC bandmates Angus Young, Stevie Young, Matt Laug, and Chris Chaney.

The AC/DC tour will go on for a total of 13 dates, starting at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on April 10, and ending at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on May 25. According to the announcement on Instagram, tickets will be on sale from January 6.

The AC/DC tour, named after the group’s 2020 Power Up album, features performances in cities like Pasadena, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, Vancouver, Nashville, Cleveland, Foxborough, Arlington, and a few others.

Fans reacted to the announcement on social media, with those in other locations pleading for a tour. “I guess I’m spending more $ than anticipated,” a fan replied. “Was hoping for a NYC gig to make a trek over and the expense worth it. But maybe Chicago will be a decent alternative,” someone else speculated.

What happened to AC/DC?

AC/DC took a long hiatus from touring the US after 2016, during which they dealt with the loss of their founding member and guitarist Malcolm Young. He died in November 2017 at 64 after suffering from dementia, lung cancer, and heart problems.

His nephew Stevie has taken over and will play the guitar during next year’s performances. Bassist Cliff Williams was also replaced by Chaney after retiring last year, while Laug is filling drummer Phil Rudd’s spot. Angus has remained the only constant AC/DC band member since their inception in 1973. They gained international acclaim soon after with their High Voltage and Highway to Hell albums.
