Joan Van Ark showed up among her Dallas co-stars Charlene Tilton, Linda Gray, and Audrey Landers at Texas’ Southfork Experience event last week, and she looked stunning for 81. She looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved beige outfit and showed off her loose blonde curls in a center part.
Aside from playing blonde pinup doll Valene Ewing in Dallas, Joan was also famous for her role in Knots Landing alongside Nicollette Sheridan and Donna Mills. She also graced the cover of Runners World, having run up to 14 marathons in her lifetime.
Where is Joan Van Ark now?
After Knots Landing ended in the mid-90s—while playing other characters in different productions, Joan appeared in and directed Boys Will Be Boys: The Ali Cooper Story, followed by another Emmy-nominated documentary in 1997. She also reprised her popular role in a few miniseries and diversified into theater and TV shows.
Joan has not been in the public eye in almost a decade, with her last movie appearance being on Lifetime’s Psycho Wedding Crasher in 2017— where she played Aunt Daisy. She was spotted running errands in Los Angeles three years later, as she donned an athletic set and brown boots for her solo day out.
Still a blonde beauty in her eighties
Joan still looks agile and reminiscent of her Dallas days as a blonde beauty; however, she has been accused of getting cosmetic surgery in the past. There have been rumors that her frequent sessions under the knife damaged her career, which was largely thanks to her good looks.
An insider revealed in 2020 that the actress’s face looked melty, and her insecurities made her attempt surgery to get back behind the cameras. Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn added that she must have had more than one facelift, a brow lift, and some Botox.
