Luck is shining on the 61-year-old actor greatly as he gets to work with his three-time co-star, Penélope Cruz, again. Although he hasn’t made a statement about landing the major role, he was spotted at an event in Italy all smiling and shining his new set of teeth.

In the upcoming movie, Depp plays the role of a stranger who meets a cruise bartender and “find themselves entangled in a criminal underbelly.” Day Drinker will be released in 2025 with Marc Webb, who directed Amazing Spider-Man, as the director.
Although Depp has worked on smaller productions like Jeanne du Barry recently, this role is the stamp of approval that Hollywood now considers him a bankable star. “There is no better filmmaker than Marc or two more perfectly cast actors than Johnny and Penélope to bring that world to life,” Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate chair, praised him.
