The late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal had a sweet-bitter relationship, although, during Farrah’s last days, the duo reunited and settled their differences. During their time together, the couple welcomed a son, Redmond O’Neal, and it seems the 39-year-old is at the receiving end of their relationship feud.
When Farrah died in 2009, her dying wish was that Ryan would get Redmond all the help he needed to live a good life, but that didn’t happen until his death in 2023. Sadly, Farrah’s troubled son is still in incarceration and battling his life amidst his health battles.

It is sad to see Redmond fighting through the dark side of the world, as he has been involved in crime and drugs for most of his adult life. Ryan’s troubled son is being accused of armed robbery and possession of heroin and meth
In 2019, he was arrested for attempted murder and has since then been incarcerated. However, the 39-year-old was certified as medically unfit to stand trial and has since been placed in a Los Angeles rehabilitation institution.
A close source to the family disclosed that “Redmond has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and antisocial personality disorder.” The insider added that his health is slowly improving, but he still experiences transient memory loss, which causes him to break down and cry “uncontrollably.”
Before Ryan’s death in December 2023, he tried to reach out to Redmond, but the latter didn’t grant him visitation. Redmond blames his dad for his choices and misfortunes, and “in his mind, his father is the devil.” The insider also added that he has refused help from his half-siblings as he “continually believes his family ruined him!”
