Brooke Shields looked stunning as she arrived at the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala in a bejeweled cream dress that sat elegantly on her and barely showed any skin. She accompanied the ankle-length gown with a clutch purse, white flats, and minimal jewelry that stood out beneath her slicked-back hair.
Brooke revealed that it was the same outfit her mother, Teri Shields, wore to meet Queen Elizabeth II; however, she did not specify the designer or any more details about her look. She also posted her look to Instagram, featuring red-carpet moments and more angles of her ensemble.
Fans react to Brooke Shields’ Gala look
Brooke got lots of admiration from her fans on social media, who also commended her fashionable tribute to her late mother. “Beautiful, and a nice way to honor your mom,” someone said with a red heart emoji. “Such a classic beauty with classic style!” another exclaimed.
Some other followers called the outfit a piece of wearable art, and many others agreed, as there was hardly any critique in the comments. Actress Jennifer Beals said Brooke was the Queen, adding that she looked exquisite. “You are a queen! We love you, Brooke,” another person echoed.
Mother and daughter recreations
Recreating clothes from the previous generation seems to be a thing for the Shields girls, as Brooke’s youngest daughter often borrows pieces from her closet. Grier wore her mother’s wedding dress from 1997 for her high school graduation in August, and it looked stunning on her.

She also wore one of Brooke’s vintage Richard Tyler from nearly two decades ago at the CNN Heroes event last December. Brooke had worn the black strapless gown at the Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills in 2006. Grier looked gorgeous in the outfit, with Brooke beside her in a complementing dress and trench coat combo.
