Courteney Cox and Michael Keaton’s relationship began in 1989 but finally ended after several on-and-offs in 1995. Theirs was a wholesome romance as they were utterly smitten by one another ever since their first date at Cox’s home.
Thirty years later, Cox is dating singer-songwriter Johnny McDaid; however, a source recently disclosed that she may still have strong feelings for Keaton. The insider added that Keaton shares mutual feelings and considers Cox to be “the one that got away.”
Why did Courteney Cox and Michael Keaton break up?
Cox left Keaton after five years together, noting that she was tired of waiting for their marriage. Keaton never popped the big question, while Cox was waiting to be a wife and mother. By 1999, her dream came true with David Arquette, with whom she shares a daughter, Coco Arquette.
The source says the former couple have not been in touch, but now that Keaton is having huge success with Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice 2, he is craving companionship and family. The insider hoped that they settle differences soon, and possibly pose for photos together at upcoming events.
After her divorce from David in 2010, Cox began dating Johnny, and they got engaged the same year. Still unmarried years later, Cox broke up again in 2015, after which Johnny dated Marni Turner. About a decade later, the former duo are back together with hopes of Cox walking down the aisle again this time.

Cox’s best friend and co-star Jennifer Aniston has her reservations about Cox’s rekindled romance. She is having a hard time reconciling why Johnny refused to join his girlfriend in Los Angeles and is sticking with long distance instead. The 47-year-old rocker lives in the UK and travels often to see Cox.
