Carol Burnett’s estranged daughter Erin Hamilton is eagerly awaiting September 14th, 2024, which is when her son’s guardianship ends as he turns 18. She granted an interview with InTouch Weekly, where she celebrated her son’s well-being and expressed her desire to be in his life going forward.
Erin lost custody of Dylan due to substance abuse issues, which also explains her estrangement from Carol. The 55-year-old now claims to be sober, presenting the courts with drug test results and a statement to express her remorse.

While Erin fights to be a mother again, she also accuses a few people of working against a potential reunion with the teenager because they have yet to see how changed she is. Court-appointed guardian Jodi Pais Montgomery vehemently pushed against Erin’s demands in the past months, but all is now settled, with the guardianship ending this week.

Erin— who tested negative for Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, MDA-Analogues, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP), as shown in recent court documents, noted that she had begun the process of mending her relationship with Dylan, who is currently enrolled in a New York film school.

Carol and her husband, Brian Miller, filed to be Dylan’s temporary guardians in 2020 and remained so until the following year when Jodi came into the picture. Interestingly, Jodi is no stranger to this position, as she reportedly served as Britney Spears’ conservator in the past.
Dylan’s father was not an option because, like Erin, he was also troubled and had checked into a rehabilitation facility in 2020. In the past two decades, Erin has had multiple rehab rounds to no avail. At the recent court hearing, she convinced those concerned about her changed life by referencing her job and her AA program, where she sponsors three other women.
