Michael Douglas was spotted at the Grand Prix in Monza, Italy, last weekend, and tried to take part in the fun by sitting in one of Aston Martin safety cars on the field. This did not end well as Michael ended up hitting his head while attempting to get in the driver’s seat.
The 79-year-old actor lowered his body to get in the vehicle but likely did not expect the Aston Martin to be any lower and settled his weight in too early. The screen icon could be seen stumbling in the recorded clip before quickly readjusting.

In a bid to make light of his fall, Michael quickly turned to the camera and asked “Down low huh?” and laughed off the likely-painful hit to his head. He then posted the concerning clip to his social media with the caption, “How low can you go? guess not enough!”

Fans did not find this so humorous and urged him to be careful next time. “Watch your head, Michael!” someone exclaimed in the comments, while another echoed the same and asked the actor to “take care.” “Bless your sweet heart! It’s soooo low you bumped your head,” a third user quipped.
Michael claims he is partly retired
This head-bump accident comes after Michael revealed his decision to spend time in Mallorca, Spain, as he is partially retired. He received the Masters of Cinema award at Palma’s Atlantida Film Festival, where he talked about slowing down his career as his 80th birthday drew close.
Michael only plans to live in Spain for half a year, but also noted that it would take a very special role to bring him out of his hiatus. The father of three is currently enjoying the slow life on his 250-acre property, S’Estaca, which he purchased in the ‘90s.
