The 79-year-old came down with COVID-19 but has now come forward with a relieving update, which his wife, Penny Lancaster, also confirmed.

Penny further proved her husband was fit as a fiddle with a snap of him enjoying a family weekend. She responded to Rod’s morbid remark, calling it an absolutely bizarre thing to say. She expressed her surprise at the statement, noting that he is “literally sprinting” at his age.

Rod claimed that the reason for saying that his days were numbered was because of its generality. He noted that anyone could pass away anytime and that being aware of that fact does not mean he is dying or lacking the will to live.

True to Penny’s words, Rod revealed that he is on his way to completing a hundred-meter run in 18 seconds, as he works out three to four times a week with his personal trainer. The ever-determined Rod is looking to set a new world record in the fastest sprint for a 79-year-old.

Penny praised her heartthrob’s quest for bigger feats, noting that Rod never sees the sky as the limit but tries to go beyond. It is obvious in his music career as he still promises to get back on stage despite his current health issues.
