As Ringo Starr’s 84th birthday commenced, his former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney made an Instagram post in celebration while also celebrating his father. “Happy birthday to Ringo and to my Dad! Hope Sir Richard Starkey has a fabulous day,” Paul wrote.
Paul’s post featured a heartfelt moment between the two men, who dressed nearly the same and wore tinted glasses. The next slide was a black-and-white shot of Paul’s father in a sharp-looking suit while standing in front of a house.

Paul’s post went viral with over 220,000 likes and nearly 2,000 comments wishing the celebrants for their birthday and commending Paul and Ringo’s friendship after the band split up. “Happy Birthday Ringo!!! Peace and love always forever!!!” a giddy fan exclaimed.

Someone asked that they do a concert together in Mexico, which might be a tough call for either man. “Beautiful oldies, how I love them,” another user gushed. “Ringo, we are birthday twins! I hope we both have a happy and healthy year ahead!” some other comment read.
‘Peace and Love’
Ringo is spreading the “Peace and Love” message as he turns 84 and was joined by industry colleagues Joe Walsh, Fred Armisen, and musician Diane Warren in Beverly Hills, California, among others. He led the crowd to chant the phrase, proudly taking in the success of the movement which he started in 2008, adding that it is currently a thing in about 35 countries.
Also present at the celebration was Ringo’s wife, Barbara Starkey, his children, and the likes of Ben Harper, Stephen Stills, Ed Begley Jr., and Don Was. Hundreds of fans showed up at the main venue in California, and they all joined the renowned songwriter to chant the phrase “Peace And Love” at exactly noon. He explained that his goal was to promote peace and love among people, one after the other.
