Tom Cruise was seen arriving at a heliport in London with his only son, Connor, last Friday, and their rare outing together has people talking. 29-year-old Connor, who is a DJ, kept it casual with a black hoodie, gray pants, and a baseball hat as he strutted the open area in a pair of sneakers.
Tom was right ahead in a pair of denim jeans, an off-white tee, and thin-rimmed sunshades. Connor was later seen at the BST Kings of Leon concert in Hyde Park, London, with a female friend in the VIP section as they grooved along to the show.
Fans had a field day analyzing Connor’s look in comparison to Tom, who they said looks younger due to Connor’s sudden weight gain. “Wow, Connor has grown!” someone gushed. Unlike Connor, Tom’s lifestyle is a sure deterrent from gaining weight as it involves strenuous physical activity in order to keep up with his tasking reputation of being his own stuntman in movies.
While Connor is not as ripped as his dad, he is following in his footsteps as an Hollywood actor, with credits in productions like Seven Pounds and Red Dawn. He has also displayed entrepreneurial prowess in his business, Connor’s Meat Shack, where meat lovers can enjoy “Wagyu, brisket, burgers, chicken, and ribs on chars, flats and smokers” according to the brand’s Instagram bio.
Tom’s rare bonding with Connor comes amid news of him neglecting his daughter, Suri, who recently dropped his last name for her mother’s middle name. Tom shares Suri with his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, and their messy split in 2012 led to estrangement from Suri. “Finally, Tom Cruise is being shown to be the deadbeat he is!” an Instagram user exclaimed, adding that the actor grosses them out.
Others accused Tom of avoiding his daughter due to differences in religious beliefs as he infamously attends the controversial church of Scientology. “It’s incomprehensible that he let a cult separate him from his child…what is he thinking?” an enraged commenter asked. “Cult over daughter… I only hope one day he has huge regrets,” a third user echoed.
