However, Minnelli’s health problems appear to have reached a new level of severity. According to recent reports, the actress will miss screening a new documentary that chronicles her remarkable life and career as she can’t travel from her Beverly Hills home to New York City, where the event will be held.

Minnelli is anticipated to appear at the Tribeca Film Festival, where her documentary, Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story, is set to premiere. The 78-year-old star received a personal invitation to the event from her longtime friend and former New York costar, Robert De Niro.

Despite her eagerness to attend, a recent report by Allison Boshoff of the Daily Mail disclosed that Minnelli would be unable to make the trip. The reporter revealed that the actress’s health issues prevent her from enduring the demanding and lengthy journey required to attend the festival.

Minnelli has faced a series of health challenges throughout her life. Her struggles with alcoholism and addiction to prescription drugs reportedly began in the late ’60s and have recurred intermittently over the decades. In 2000, she was diagnosed with viral encephalitis, a serious condition that causes inflammation of the brain. Although she appeared to have recovered a few years later, it is unclear if she ever fully regained her health. In addition to these issues, the actress has suffered several serious injuries, such as broken wrists in 2013, followed by a broken back in 2014.
