Bernadette Peters Collaborates With Breyers To Prove Ice Cream Is ‘Anti-Aging’

Bernadette Peters is back again with Breyers ice cream after three decades since she did her first commercials with the brand. The 76-year-old is again crediting ice cream, specifically the CarbSmart vanilla frozen dairy dessert, as her secret to feeling younger.

She held up jars of “anti-aging ice cream” to imply that having some of the delicious goodness could be a factor for a long life. Peters said having Breyers is like self-care, which improves the quality of life and also maintains good health as one ages.

According to Breyers’ survey for its latest ad, 89 percent of Americans above 55 agree that life’s mundane pleasures, such as a tub of creamy goodness, contribute to “a holistic anti-aging routine.” Peters explained that CarbSmart is true to its name and contains only about 3g to 5g of carbs and between 60 and 150 calories per serving.

She recalled the commercials from the ‘90s, as “well written” and a lot of fun seeing herself faint over some good ice cream. Speaking of finding joy in simple things, Peters enjoys life with her two dogs and looks forward to her Broadway Barks pet adoption event this August.

Peters looks undeniably fabulous at 76, and she revealed her secret to be rooted in gratitude. She also encouraged women her age to be positive and take companionship through friendships and family more seriously as time passes. The Broadway icon also finds joy in working and has yet to regret any of her roles.

Peters also lives a healthy lifestyle by enjoying a cup of coffee, some grapefruit, and sometimes oatmeal to begin each day. She also does Pilates and Gyrotonics regularly to keep active and sticks to a “pretty clean” diet consisting only of protein, vegetables, and salad. She also swears by meditation and moments of quietness to focus and be less impatient.
