Richard Gere graced the 77th Cannes Film Festival with his wife, Alejandra Silva, and his eldest son, Homer James Jigme Gere, whom he welcomed along with actress Carey Lowell. The proud father of three has kept his family from the spotlight, so this rare public sighting is memorable.
Homer made his debut appearance on the red carpet of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, joining his father and stepmother for the premiere of Gere’s latest film, Oh Canada. However, the 74-year-old’s remaining two sons were absent at the event.

The trio made quite the entrance, with father and son sporting similar attire: black tuxedo jackets layered over crisp white shirts paired with sleek black trousers and black bowties. Homer, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Gere, appeared to be a younger version of him and wore a big smile as he posed for photos.

Silva also dazzled in a stunning black strapless gown. The dress was adorned with delicate pink floral embellishments that cascaded gracefully across the bodice, trailing down her hip to the hem. She enhanced her look with makeup and silver jewelry.
Despite Gere’s plan to shield his family from media attention, Homer shares his father’s passion for the entertainment industry and harbors aspirations of making a mark in Hollywood, too. He wants to venture into “writing and directing little movies.”
Homer is currently studying cognitive neuroscience and visual art at Brown University. His dad has been supportive of him since his teenage years, so his career choice shouldn’t bother him too much. Gere once described him as a “smart kid” with a “great personality.”
