Lori Loughlin, widely recognized for her iconic portrayal of Aunt Becky on the beloved sitcom Full House, became a household name among millennials and even Gen X. Her role extended into the Netflix sequel series, Fuller House, cementing her status as a pop culture icon. However, in 2019, Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, got caught up in quite the mess—a high-profile college admissions bribery scandal, which attracted legal repercussions.

Loughlin faced the consequences of her actions, including damage to her career and a period of incarceration. Following the fallout, she retreated from the spotlight, opting for a more subdued existence away from the glare of media scrutiny. In a new turn of events, Loughlin recently emerged from her self-imposed seclusion to offer insights into her tumultuous journey. In her first major interview since the scandal, she candidly addressed the challenges she faced during that turbulent period.

The actress also shared that she has successfully found a way to heal as she continues to look at the bright side of life. “For me, it’s just persevering and as an actress, I hear ‘no’ a lot, so I just have to be myself and persevere and try not to let in negativity. My advice is to just keep moving forward. Everyone has good times and bad times,” she added. “That’s life. I think you just have to pick yourself up. Nobody said life was going to be a breeze. There’s beauty in life, but there’s also hardship in life.”

Lori Loughlin says life is all about mistakes and forgiveness

The Edge of Night actress emphasized the importance of learning to forgive. She explained that harboring grudges or resentment towards those who may have wronged her is not productive, instead, she expressed a willingness to let go of any grievances and focus on personal growth and positivity.

“Actually, I try to be a forgiving person. I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone. We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too,” Loughlin admitted. “My family wasn’t one to hold grudges. I didn’t grow up in a household where if you made a mistake, you weren’t forgiven, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes. So I was always told to let stuff go. And I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
