During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, child actress Brooke Shields spoke fondly of her underwear shoot with Kim Kardashian’s line, SKIMS in 2022. “I was so happy that at this age that anybody wanted to see me in anything that looked like underwear,” she said, noting that she felt “sexy.”
She felt representative of women like herself, who are often overlooked in the industry due to their changing bodies. “So I was very proud that she wanted to represent women my age in lingerie, and I knew they were going to treat me well and take care of me,” Brooke admitted. “It was a great experience.”

The Endless Love star founded an online platform named “Beginning is Now” in 2021 to “change the whole conversation around age.” “It’s about this demographic of women really coming into their power and owning it and really taking this period of their lives to pivot in the ways they want to – and that’s in everything with beauty, wellness— all of it,” Brooke told PEOPLE.

The mother of two, who is set to release a book on the “power of aging,” told the outlet that she is “just more and more aware of what a privilege it is to be able to exercise self-care and have it be a form of wellness rather than vanity.”
“What we know for sure about women and aging is that it’s not the put-her-out-to-pasture narrative our society would have us believe,” she warned. “I don’t need to hear any more about all the ways my body starts to sag when my ovaries stop working.”
Brooke turns 59 next month and has managed to appear more glamorous over the years. The Wanda Nevada actress credits her view of skincare and makeup as a “calming” self-care ritual rather than a hassle. It is also thanks to her daughters, Rowan and Grier, that she is able to prioritize beauty as she ages. “It’s now become more enjoyable to me from living through it with girls, young women— their appreciation of it and their techniques. I’m starting to enjoy it through them,” she told Allure for their Shelf Life segment.
Brooke also takes care of her skin at home with products like the True Botanicals Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm, Resurrection Radiance Eye Cream, the Chebula Extreme Cream, and the Moisture Lock Barrier Cream rather than a “go-to place or person.” Brooke’s New York-based trainer, Ngo Okafor, also revealed how she achieved her lingerie-worthy shape in 2022 through “strength training circuits and abs, with cardio bursts mixed in” coupled with “a high protein, low carbohydrate diet.”
