Kyra Sedgwick took to Instagram to wish her lookalike daughter, Sosie Bacon, a happy birthday with an adorable photo of the celebrant goofing and making silly faces with a cow. “Happy happy birthday, @sosiebacon— may you be surrounded by strange animals forever. Love you,” the Villains actress wrote.
Kyra’s husband and father to Sosie, Kevin Bacon, also shared a mashup video featuring Sosie moving to PREP’s 2022 cover of Harry Styles’ “As It Was.” Kevin was also in the clip mimicking Sosie’s dance, and they appeared to be having loads of fun. “Happy birthday @sosiebacon. I’ll never stop dancing with ya, baby,” Kevin said promisingly.
Being an actress with fans of her own, coupled with that of her parents, Sosie received loads of wishes for her birthday. “Happy Birthday Sosie. She was great when they had her on ‘The Closer.’ Miss the show. You were amazing on that show and all the work you do,” someone gushed. “Happy Birthday to beautiful Sosie! I’m watching ‘The Closer’ as I type this,” another added via Kyra’s comments section.
Kevin’s post also received hundreds of thousands of likes, and so many kind notes complimenting his beautiful family. “Fill my eyes, watching a family living in harmony. And we all can realize that is not in the Instagram. Happy Birthday @sosiebacon God bless You and Your Daddy, Mom and all family!” a follower wrote. “Love you guys…family that dances together is forever and ever. Happy birthday!!!” another exclaimed.
Like her parents, Sosie has found purpose in Hollywood and made her parents proud with her stellar performances. “She’s great in the movie. She’s fantastic. We didn’t know she was really interested in pursuing any kind of an acting career,” Kevin once told Hollywood Reporter. “When she finally, in her early 20s, decided that this is what she wanted to do, she dropped out of college and moved to L.A. and really started doing all the right stuff.”
Kevin was particularly impressed by Sosie’s portrayal of Dr. Rose Cotter in 2022’s Parker Finn-directed film, Smile. “When I saw the movie, I was just really taken aback with, not only with how great she was but also how hard that role was, because it’s one of those parts where there is no break,” he revealed. “…that’s a movie where the stress level is insane. I was very proud of her.”
