Style Influencer Shares Tips For Women Over 50 To Look ‘10 Years Younger In 10 Minutes’

Style influencer Diedre Nicholas took to her YouTube channel, 50 & Fabulous with My Friend Deirdre, to share how ladies over 50 can appear “younger, fresher and more vibrant” by “lifting and brightening the area near their faces.” “What can you do right now—or in the next 10 minutes—- to look 10 years younger?” she asked.

Diedre then suggested light-colored jumpers over darker ones and lighter accessories if you have to go dark on top. “Your aim is to cast a young-looking light onto your face—and you can do this in a number of ways,” she explained.

Tips for women over 50 to look 10 years younger

Diedre advised that women over 50 have a better chance of appearing youthful if they fill their wardrobes with light-colored tops and dresses— or bright, bold ones that will “reflect light and life onto your face.” Meanwhile, she also acknowledged that some people prefer black and asked them to use jewelry to achieve the same effect.

For those who love to experiment with color, bright patterned scarves are a go-to. Otherwise, they are pale scarves or strings of pearls. “You need to be careful with black, as it may reflect shadows onto the face and drag it down a little bit,” she further emphasized.

Diedre did not only speak, but she also demonstrated her tips with clothes from her closet. She personally loves to pair her dark navy jeans with a bright blue ribbed jumper to make her legs appear slimmer and black heels to accessorize. She then adds a long, metallic necklace to further reflect light to her face.

While her favorite color to wear is blue, Diedre says women over 50 can go for whatever colors flatter them or pale tones like ivory or gray. She also urged listeners to avoid pants that are “tricky” to take off and ditch low-rise trousers and skirts for “way more flattering” bottoms that are mid or high-rise.
