An AI technology company, Soul Machines, recently revealed its digital version of the late Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. The version “shares anecdotes and even delivers personalized greetings, creating an unforgettable experience for Marilyn fans.”
Following the announcement of the creation last week, Soul Machines noted that the chatbot engages users “in Marilyn’s signature voice and style” and lets you interact “in real-time using advanced natural language processing, deep learning, and GPT 3.5.”

Using the proprietary camera and microphone technology, the creators claim Digital Marilyn can read users’ emotions and respond accordingly. “Every interaction is unique. Digital Marilyn analyzes your preferences and tailors her responses accordingly, fostering a genuine connection that resonates with you on an individual level,” they explained.

The average conversation length with the movie star Avatar is about 20 minutes, in which she can “engage in natural, fluid dialogue, adapting to your questions and interests in real-time.” “Mimicking the human nervous system, this technology allows Digital Marilyn to respond with realistic emotions and nuanced expressions, creating a deeply personal and memorable experience,” they further stated.
Digital Marilyn was unveiled at SXSW in Austin last Friday during an invite-only event by Soul Machines. The aim of the showcase was to display “the transformative power of AI in connecting brands and consumers.”
“Digital Marilyn showcases our Biological AI, bringing an iconic personality to life through engaging dialogues and emotional intelligence,” the company CEO and co-founder, Greg Cross, said.
Beyond technology, they also aim to preserve the memory of Marilyn— who died about six decades ago, through an “immersive” experience. “Marilyn Monroe remains a timeless icon, inspiring generations with her talent, charisma, and enduring legacy,” Dana Carpenter, the EVP of partnering company, Authentic said. Authentic manages the rights to Marilyn’s image and likeness, in collaboration with Soul Machines to open up “exciting possibilities for multiple generations of fans to engage with her (Marilyn) in a whole new way” and foster “a deeper connection and appreciation for her enduring spirit and the mark she left on the world.”
