Tom was nearby in Peak District’s mining area for the next installment after Dead Reckoning: Part 1, where his character Ethan Hunt and his team had to face a villainous AI. The exact location was featured in the last part of the franchise, and the crew is back there to film a car chase scene at Middleton Mines close to Matlock.
Dead Reckoning: Part 1 was nominated alongside the winning movie Oppenheimer for Best Visual Effects at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2024. The film also received other recognitions in the past year, such as a Golden Globe nomination for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, Action Movie of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards, and many more.
Mission Impossible 8 (Part 2) is set for release in 2025, and Tom is working hard at delivering amazing stunts yet again. According to reports, he will be performing yet another death-defying aerial stunt. While speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference, Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish said, “Tom’s walking on the outside of an airplane — in the air, not on a green screen. It’s quite the ride.”
