Hairspray star Ricki Lake showed off the results of maintaining her weight loss on Monday as she rocked the same red swimsuit from 17 years ago. The actress posted a before and after snapshot of herself in her Norma Kamali one-piece, which she wore for the 2007 US Weekly cover.
The 2024 photo features Ricki Lake in blonde, shorter hair, as opposed to the longer brunette style she had for the magazine shoot. “Then and now. 2007-2024. I held onto this #NormaKamali one-piece for all these years, wondering if I would ever be able to wear it again,” her caption reads.

The 55-year-old TV personality got compliments from fellow celebrities and fans in her comment section. Actor James Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly, wrote, “I love everything about you always…so beautiful in both and all the ways. But goodness, this must feel great and invigorating!” A fan agreed, saying Ricki is “beautiful & so inspiring!!”

She was commended for her commitment to losing weight in her fifties and inspiring others to do the same. “I’ll never forget the Howard Stern interview. You were at your lowest and feeling great. He told you to drop another 15 pounds. Looking amazing, and so glad you did it without pharma,” a follower added.
Ricki and her husband, Ross Burningham, decided to lose weight together, and they each shed 30 lbs in months. “I really want to share because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical. (Not that there is anything wrong with that),” she clarified. “…both of us felt like we wanted to at least try and do it on our own.”
Some fans had accused her of using Ozempic, however, the film star said this time was the “healthiest way I’ve lost weight in all of my years.” She shared snapshots from the first day of her daily hike with Ross, as well as a recent one showing how much they had changed. “Being 55 and in perimenopause, I was a bit worried that my body would not drop the lbs like it had in the past. I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong,” she gushed.
