The Devil Wears Prada star Stanley Tucci modeled for Levi’s with a few hundred dollars in compensation before his big break as an actor. The sixty-three-year-old looked gorgeous and seductive in one of the company’s TV ‘80s ads, where he strutted in a pair of 501s.

Street dancers and performers surrounded him as he walked down the road in a sleeveless white top and a pair of classic blue jeans. Stanley, who was in his mid-20s at the time, looked young and unrecognizable, with his bulging muscles and charismatic gait stealing the show.

Although not popular yet, Stanley landed his first role three years before Levi’s commercial as a soldier in Broadway’s The Queen And The Rebels. He told GQ during an interview that the fashion company paid him $300 for the classic ad. “It was really fun. It was shot in an afternoon. ‘All right, walk towards the camera, walk away from the camera, smile, do this, do that.’” he recalled. “That was it— “Here’s your money, see you later.’”

Photos of the Levi ad made it to X, formerly Twitter, and fans were astonished. “What a glow up. I hope I get sexier as I age as well,” someone gushed and hoped. “He’s hot!” another simply exclaimed. Now, there is a higher chance you would find Stanley in tailored suits; however, he still rocks a pair of good-fitting jeans once in a while.

Stanley played the role of Nigel alongside Meryl Streep, who was Runway editor Miranda Priestley in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada. Some of the movie cast reunited at the 2024 SAG Awards ceremony in Los Angeles over the weekend; however, Stanley was not present as it was previously announced that just Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt would join Streep to present the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series.

The Devil Wears Prada is one of Stanley’s famous films where he gave a memorable line, “Gird your loins,” which he says came after many tries. “I don’t remember how I said it. There were many different iterations of that line, and we did a number of takes, and all of them were too filthy to end up in the movie. We ended up with ‘gird your loins,” he said. Aside from the celebrity glamor, Stanley is a family man with four kids— two of whom he shares with his wife, Felicity Blunt, and they live in London together.
