Paramount Pictures is rapidly expanding its repertoire in biographical films following the successful release of Bob Marley: One Love. Now, the studio has its sights set on yet another mesmerizing musical journey, this time chronicling the legendary music group the Bee Gees, comprised of the talented trio Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb.

Although formal agreements have yet to be finalized, there are speculations that Ridley Scott is set to direct the production of the biopic of the iconic 70s band. While Scott’s portfolio may not typically align with music biopics, various factors have prompted the studio’s pursuit of his involvement, ultimately leading to the acclaimed director’s agreement to embark on this creative endeavor.

The director has had a longstanding interest in the legendary music group from his early attempts to launch his directing career. This connection stems from the group’s longtime manager at the time, Robert Stigwood, a music mogul who had been managing the band since the ’60s. Stigwood introduced Scott to the medieval film Castle Accident, which was supposed to star the band’s three brothers, Barry, Robin, and Maurice.

Unfortunately, the film never materialized, and Scott went on to direct The Duelist instead. Despite this setback, Scott’s desire to collaborate with the group on a creative project persisted. Now, nearly five decades later, he can finally make that vision a reality with the upcoming biopic.

Once his confirmation is official, Scott is set to join forces with prominent figures in the movie industry to work on the film. He will work alongside Stacey Snider, GK Film’s Graham King, and Michael Pruss of Scott Free Productions.

The project will also reunite the 86-year-old director with John Logan, who wrote the script for the upcoming movie, marking their return to collaboration since their work together on the acclaimed films Gladiator and Alien: Covenant.
