Fox was spotted alongside his devoted wife, Tracy Pollan, despite his current battle with Parkinson’s disease. On top of that, the actor received a standing ovation as he stood from his wheelchair to address the crowd during his rare appearance.
The 62-year-old graced the stage at the prestigious Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall to announce the winner of the Best Film category. His voice reverberated throughout the auditorium, eliciting a profound wave of emotion that swept through the entire hall.
While introducing the nominees, Fox described each movie as the best works of art. “No matter who you are or where you’re from, these films will change your day,” he stated. “The reason they say movies are magic is movies can change your day, they can change your outlook and sometimes even change your life.”
The actor who came onstage via a wheelchair insisted on standing up as he handed the award to Christopher Nolan for his movie Oppenheimer. Fox’s great act led the audience, and celebrities like Robert Downey Jr. and Florence Pugh, to give him a standing ovation.
