The 63-year-old took to her Instagram page to post a nostalgic picture of herself donning a purple bikini while expressing her discontentment with the prevailing societal norms surrounding body weight.

Bertinelli added that she no longer feels compelled to adhere to societal standards as she has now realized her self-worth. “This is a 150lb body on a 5’4 frame. I don’t weigh myself anymore because this is considered overweight by who’s standards I don’t know. It’s stupid, and I believed them for far too long,” Bertinelli wrote in the caption. “I now, finally, know that I am a kind, considerate, funny, thoughtful woman.”
