While speaking to the audience before the performance, Rucker expressed sadness at the tragic news of Keith’s death. “We woke up to some sad news this morning. Country music lost Toby Keith, and I wanted to do something special for Toby tonight,” Rucker said. “It’s one of his songs, my favorite Toby Keith song. So this goes out to Toby.”

Apart from Rucker’s performance, the Grand Ole Opry paid homage to the late singer by sharing a heartfelt tribute on their official social media platform, X.
