71-Year-Old Supermodel Marie Helvin Poses In Lingerie Proving You Can Model At Any Age

Marie Helvin modeled for the first time since 2022 when she underwent a mastectomy to treat her breast cancer. Her comeback was stunning as she posed in a red blazer over a pink lingerie set with cut-out hearts, as well as a black mesh one-piece with matching stilettos and latex gloves.

She admitted to feeling confident again thanks to her surgeon, who did an incredible job. “It’s given me such a confidence boost to get back to modeling again,” 71-year-old Marie, who has yet to retire, said. She hopes that her joining the Bella Blue Valentine’s campaign will inspire women her age to “take back” their power.

It took a while for Marie Helvin to pose again

The sultry shoot took a lot of strength from Marie, who had to have her “perfect” breasts removed. “Losing that was not just physical, it was a mental and emotional removal. It’s only now that I feel ready again to do this campaign, the recovery process took quite some time and obviously my breast went through a huge trauma,” she confessed.

The 12-time Vogue cover girl wore another black bodysuit, which she paired with a matching blazer and shades. She showed off her gorgeous figure in more lingerie selections from the brand’s collection and looked absolutely stunning in all. “It’s been wonderful to wear beautiful lingerie that feels good, that makes me feel good, and I know that looks good to others. It’s exciting,” she gushed.

Marie’s retirement

Marie believes women over 60 are “ignored” for women under the age of 30, hence her emphasis on proving that age is just a number when it comes to modeling. “I’m not ready to retire yet, who says a woman can’t model lingerie in her 70s?” she asked. “I refuse to be defined and discriminated against because of my age.”

She implored marketing executives to be inclusive of older women in campaigns as representation rather than making them feel invisible. “I think a lot of women my age are stuck in a rut because society makes you feel that way,” she noted. “You should take back who you are. Take back your individuality, take back your power as a woman and explore all that entails.” Marie advised women to treat themselves to “beautiful things like lingerie,” good sex, good food, a good life, kindness, and “all those wonderful things.”
