Disney retired its foremost character, Mickey Mouse, in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse last year; however, a new Mickey will debut in season three of Mickey Mouse Funhouse, premiering on February 23. Toonhive confirmed the news on X, stating “Disney Junior & Disney +” as the platforms to watch.
Mickey Mouse Funhouse started in July 2021, and thanks to a positive reception from the audience, it is only right that more follow. More interestingly, Mickey’s comeback makes it even better, seeing that the company initially dropped him for good.

Mickey in the public domain
Although Mickey got retired and picked up again, his Steamboat Willie version entered the public domain on January 1, 2024, after 95 years of copyright ownership. In no time, modified creations of the character flooded the internet— particularly horror versions of Mickey.
