Carol Burnett Brought Some Humor To The Emmy Awards With Her Perfect Punchline

90 years old and ‘won’t stop’

For Carol, work continues “as long as I’m healthy, and I’ve got my brain.” She has no plans to retire again since she deems herself fit and in love with her craft. “Thank God—and if it’s fun to do, I’ll do it,” she said in an interview. The Queen of comedy, who turns 91 in April, claimed she felt like an eleven-year-old on becoming a nonagenarian. Her last birthday was celebrated with an NBC special titled Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love, and the celebration blew her away. “I was absolutely gobsmacked by the evening,” she told Page Six then. “It was incredible. It’s not a birthday party. It’s not a roast. It’s a variety show.”
